Whitefly
The most harmful species are the greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) and the tobacco white fly (Bemisia tabaci). They occur in both indoor and outdoor crops.
DAMAGES
As well as larvae do, whitefly adults suck the sap of the plants. Larvae produce honeydew that makes leaves and fruits dirty, reducing their commercial value. In addition, sooty mould grows on the honeydew, which complicates the photosynthesis process of the plant. The white fly is also a viral and bacteria vector.
It attacks mainly crops like tomato, cucumber, melon, eggplant, courgette, bean, cotton or tobacco.
