Agrobío drives biocontrol at Fruit Attraction 2024

Agrobío at Fruit Attraction 2024

Agrobío, 30 September 2024

Agrobío, a leader in biological control and biopollination, will be present at Fruit Attraction 2024, which will take place from October 8 to 10 at IFEMA, Madrid. With nearly three decades of experience and a presence in over 45 countries, Agrobío will showcase its latest innovations at stand 9E22 – Hall 9, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable and highly productive agriculture.

Since its inception, Agrobío has been a pioneer in developing innovative solutions based on beneficial organisms, such as predators and pollinators, which have transformed farming practices in many regions worldwide. Through constant research in key areas like insect genetics and nutrition, the company has successfully developed strains of insects adapted to unfavorable conditions. This new generation of predators has revolutionized preventive pest management in horticultural, fruit, and ornamental crops.

New generation of predators

Among Agrobío’s most innovative developments are Orius Cold and Orius Plus. These are advanced strains of the insect Orius laevigatus, known for their high predatory capacity and resilience to both cold and warm temperatures. They can survive without food (pollen or pests) without losing reproductive capacity.

These strains enable farmers to control pests year-round. They are particularly effective against various thrips in crops such as peppers, cucumbers, berries, and ornamentals.

POWERmite 3.0: A revolution in pest control

One of Agrobío’s major innovations at Fruit Attraction 2024 is POWERmite 3.0. Notably, this cutting-edge diet enhances the effectiveness of predators such as Orius, Swirskii, and Montdorensis. Furthermore, it has been developed through advanced nutrition research, which maximizes the health and early establishment of natural enemies.

As a result of using POWERmite 3.0, the three main predator groups—mites, mirids, and anthocorids—perform their functions more efficiently. Consequently, this leads to better crop protection and improved fruit quality.

In addition, this patented nutritional strategy strengthens biological control and opens new opportunities for pest management in outdoor agriculture. Ultimately, it further solidifies Agrobío’s commitment to sustainability and agricultural performance.

Introducing PHYTOplus: The most advanced Phytoseiulus persimilis against spider mite

Agrobío will showcase PHYTOplus, the most advanced Phytoseiulus persimilis for controlling spider mites. This innovative breeding system enables continuous and efficient pest control. It prevents generational gaps and helps manage spider mite hotspots across all types of crops.

Commitment to sustainable agri-food systems

Agrobío is committed to the future by continuously investing in research and development. The company understands that sustainable growth depends on innovation, knowledge generation, and information transfer. Agrobío aims to stay at the forefront of the shift towards more efficient and eco-friendly agriculture, leading the way in biological pest control.
